Dr. Patrick Kennedy-Williams, Clinical Psychologist
Qualifications: BA (Hons), MSc, DClinPsy (University of Oxford) HCPC Registered Psychologist (PYL 33540), member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists (1367062)
Patrick works with adolescents, adults and older adults.
Hello, I'm Patrick.
As a clinical psychologist, I provide both assessments and treatments for a range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety difficulties, OCD, trauma, and depression. I also work with neurodevelopmental issues including autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodiversity.
Amongst my adolescent male clients, I aim to bring insight to the psychology of masculinity and its role in current society. In supporting young men as they navigate the increasingly prevalent issue of hypermasculinity, to promote their successful, safe and value-rich transition into adulthood.
Alongside my work at Psychology Oxford, I am founding co-director (alongside Megan) of Climate Psychologists, a climate empowerment consultancy that engages in all areas where planetary health and mental health intersect (including schools, businesses, charities and local and national government). I am co-author (again alongside Megan) of two books; You Are Unstoppable!: How to Understand Your Feelings about Climate Change and Take Positive Action Together and Turn the Tide on Climate Anxiety: Sustainable Action for your Mental Health and the Planet.
I hold a DClinPsy Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oxford, where I also occasionally teach and supervise doctoral research.
I look forward to meeting you.
Megan Kennedy-Woodard, Coaching Psychologist, specialising in ADHD
B.A. (Hons), MSc, PGCert. Cert. ADHD Coach Training-iACT.
Megan Coaches Child, Teen, Adult and Family Clients.
Hello and welcome! If you are here, you have already taken the first and hardest step; acknowledging that something isn’t quite right in your life. As a coach, I help my clients, not by giving them advice or solutions but by helping them to realise, and uncover the confidence and genuine self-esteem they need to know that they are already dynamic, creative, resourceful and have the opportunity to live full and satisfying lives.
After practicing traditional life-coaching, I received a late-diagnosis of ADHD and saw that I could put my coaching skills to use. Specialised training and personal development informs my work incalculably. I deeply empathise with the experience of living with ADHD, the ‘befores’ and ‘afters’ of processing a diagnosis, identifying core beliefs and finding, value, purpose and meaning in yourself, your relationships and how you live your life.
I personally understand the complex familial, social, educational and professional aspects of living with a person who is neurodiverse. I support parents and partners gain perspective and good practice as they engage with themselves and their loved ones. ADHD is a ‘team activity’ and I facilitate you and your loved ones learning to work as a team.
Thanks to my ADHD, I obviously have a passion project: helping those who are helping the planet. I am co-founder Climate Psychologists and Co-Author of Turn the Tide on Climate Anxiety and the young person’s guide to climate psychology You Are Unstoppable .
Qualifications: I received my M.Sc in Psychology from UEL with a focus on childhood social dynamics. I went on to train at the University of Oxford, where I obtained my P.G. Cert. in Psychodynamic Studies and Advanced Coaching Training. I am a qualified Simplicity Parenting Coach. Completed CTI Fundamentals Co-Active. Obtaining Certified ADHD Life Coach (CALC) training program (fully accredited ICF Level 1). I receive regular supervision.
Dr Charlotte Evans - Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist
Qualifications: BSc (Hons), MSc, DClinPsy, PGDip, PGCert, C.Psychol, SRCN, PYL 33568. Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (C.Psychol), Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN), HCPC Registered Psychologist (PYL 33568)
Charlotte works with: Adults, Children, Young People and their Families. Charlotte is available for online therapy and cognitive assessments.
Hello, I am Charlotte. I have worked within the NHS since 2013, and alongside independent practice, continue to work within a paediatric psychology service, working with children and young people with a range of physical health conditions.
My clinical training was broad, and I have experience working therapeutically with both adults and children/young people within a variety of settings. Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist, I have completed further specialist training in paediatric neuropsychology, and have extensive experience working with paediatric acquired brain injury and other neurological/neurosurgical conditions. I am registered on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists, which is the gold standard for registration for clinicians practising in neuropsychology.
As a clinical psychologist I have been trained to draw upon a number of psychological models, including cognitive behavioural therapy and other third wave cognitive therapies. I believe that it is important to integrate evidence-based therapies (what we know works) with the individual needs and preferences of the client. By drawing upon psychological models and your own personal experiences, I hope to help you to make sense of your difficulties, to be able to overcome them and improve your overall quality of life.
I am able to offer support for individuals who are experiencing psychological difficulties associated with physical health, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression, amongst other difficulties. I am passionate about enabling and empowering clients to live a life that is meaningful to them. I believe that a key priority for any effective treatment is building a strong, comfortable alliance and this is at the centre of all the work that I do.
I am able to offer cognitive assessments, which may be helpful if there is a concern regarding a child/young person’s learning or academic attainments. These in-depth, standardised assessments are designed to identify areas of strength, in addition to possible areas of weakness, across many aspects of intelligence and cognition (including verbal skills, non-verbal skills, working memory and processing speed). Some of which, may require additional support at school. You can read more about cognitive assessments here
I look forward to meeting you.
Dr Rosanna Samuel, Clinical Psychologist
BSc (Hons), MSc, PGCert., DClinPsy. Health and Care Professions Council registration PYL37297
Hi, I’m Rose. I’m a Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children and their families.
I completed my undergraduate degree in 2009 and since then have worked in the NHS across many different settings. I completed a Master’s degree (MSc) in Forensic Psychology, postgraduate training (PGCert) in low-intensity Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) interventions at University College London and finally, my doctoral training (DClin) at the University of Oxford.
I have 15 years’ experience working in the NHS providing evidence-based psychological interventions with children, young people and adults. My current NHS role is working with children and young people with chronic health conditions in a surgical multi-disciplinary team as a Lead Psychologist. I also enjoy publishing important research in this role, thereby contributing to evidence-based practice.
Therapy always starts with an assessment; a session designed to help us collaboratively make sense of a person’s presenting difficulties. Towards the end of the first session, we will discuss how to develop some shared goals for therapy together. This gives therapy a focus and supports decision-making around which intervention(s) to offer.
I integrate key theories such as attachment, systemic theory and child development with evidence-based psychological interventions such as CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and narrative approaches. Working with children often means sessions are playful, creative and certainly flexible, as is needed. For many children this means moving around, using our senses or expressing and exploring difficulties via creative means.
I have a particular interest in parenting and often include parent-coaching into my practice with children and young people; this enables me to support the family as a unit. I am skilled in supporting families with stress and anxiety, anger and behaviour that people find challenging.
One of the most important processes in therapy is that you, and/or your child feels safe and supported throughout therapy. It is a privilege of mine to be able to work with children and their families at times of struggle and provide a safe and containing space when they need it most.
I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your needs and explore how I can support you.
